As storage media ages, it’s important to consolidate and migrate data to a current option, and then backup data up so you don’t lose access to important files. At Memories to Digital, we believe in having a local, easily accessible copy of your memories, and a local backup stored in a separate location offline. This type of redundancy reduces your risk of data loss, a security breach, or theft.

What’s Included in Our Data Migration, Disc Duplication & Backup Services
All device-to-device data transfers include:
- Meeting with you to discuss the details of your project. If you’ve mailed your material, we’ll call you for details.
- Transferring your files to a new storage medium. This process includes:
- Reading and exploring each original storage medium you provide.
- Copying the data to your new storage medium.
- Creating a folder system on the new storage medium to account for and organize the data from each original source.
- Checking the integrity of the data transfers to verify that all files copied completely.
- Documenting any hardware, software or file system problems that prevent a complete data transfer.
- Advising you as to any troubleshooting or repair options.

All disc duplication projects include:
- Meeting with you to discuss the details of your project. If you’ve mailed your material, we’ll call you for details.
- Duplicating the disc content onto the specified number of new discs.
- CD disc duplication includes customizing the disc with a text title of your choice and packaging the CD in a case.
- DVD and HD disc duplication includes customizing the disc and case label with a photo you provide or a frame shot from your footage, and a title of your choice. View Disc Sample Image [same mouse over pop up as one film page]
- Checking the integrity of the data transfer to the new discs to ensure all files copied completely.
- Documenting any hardware, software or file system problems that prevent a complete data transfer.
- Advising you as to any troubleshooting or repair options.
All secure backup subscriptions include:
- Storing a backup copy of your digital files on at least two of our local, offline storage servers with RAID 1 data redundancy.
- One annual download of your digital memories to a USB drive. We sell USB drives or you can provide a drive.
Currently, only digital files we produce in a film, video, photo or audio digitization or conversion project are eligible for storage on our backup servers.
Your original storage media are returned to you with your finished project. All data migration is done by our professionally trained staff in our local lab.
Note: Data transfer and disc duplication is limited by the condition of your original media. Additional charges may apply for: cleaning, handling, troubleshooting, or repairing dirty, moldy, damaged, degraded, corrupted or otherwise untransferrable media or files ($120/hour, $19.95 minimum per media, $4.95/file). Drives sold separately. All secure backup subscriptions require a current payment backed by valid payment information on file and are non-refundable. Secure backup subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel, and can be cancelled at any time with cancellation taking effect at the end of the paid term. If the auto-renewal fails, your storage plan will be extended for 30 days so you can update your payment information. After 30 days, your subscription will terminate, you will lose all access to the data, and your data will be deleted.
Preparing Your Storage Media for Transfer
- Number each original storage medium if there is a specific order you’d like us to maintain.
- Think about how many copies you’ll need. We recommend purchasing a second copy that can be stored separately for safekeeping.
- For disc duplication projects, decide on a title for each original disc we are duplicating.
- For each original DVD and HD disc that we are duplicating, provide a photo or a time code for a frame shot from your footage for the disc and case label.
- Consider subscribing to our local, secure, offline backup storage plan.
