Our Mission
To help local families eliminate the worry of losing their family memories
We founded Memories to Digital in 2003 after our family mailed our home movies away to be digitized and they got lost. We wanted our community to have a local place to convert family memories, one that offered an alternative to faceless mail-away services.
Today, whether you visit a Memories to Digital location, a Memorywise location, or one of our local partner businesses to drop off or pick up, you receive the same great service from the same dedicated local team. We are your media digitization experts.
We do 100% of our work ourselves, in-house, locally. We give you and your memories the personal service, care and attention deserved, and we use the latest technology to provide you with high-quality digital memories.

Eric Scherer
Co-Founder

In the spring of 2003, Eric’s parents and in-laws asked, “Where in the world would we go to preserve our slides and Super 8 film?” Discovering there were no great options for them, Eric drew on his engineering and computing background to found Memories to Digital (now MemoryWise)–-a place where people could confidently bring their old analog media for preservation to DVD or other digital formats. From the beginning, Eric worked closely with his clients to make sure they felt comfortable with the process and were getting exactly what they envisioned. Today, MemoryWise is one of the most experienced digitization companies in the country and also offers special event videos, slideshows, sports recruiting presentations and more. Every job is still custom-made for each client, and our motto remains: “We treat your memories as if they’re our own.”

Gwen Scherer – food marketer gone techie – joined Eric in bringing Memories to Digital (now MemoryWise) to retail locations in 2005 and fell in love with the business of helping people rediscover their memories – now in a digital format. “My Dad always said the photograph was one of the most important inventions of his lifetime. The memories we preserve from old photographs, slides, videos, film and audio recordings are a source of important historical, social and personal documentation. It’s very rewarding to bring them to life again, and play a role in passing them on to the next generation.”

My very first job in the 1980’s back home in Chicago, IL was in audio and video distribution; LP’s, cassettes, VHS, and Betamax. So my career has come full circle at MemoryWise.
I’ve also had experience with artifacts when in 2011 I co-managed a crew that moved the Colorado Historical Society into the History Colorado Museum in downtown Denver. Imagine moving to a new house then magnify that into a whole museum. I am proud to say that we didn’t drop a single piece of 1000 years old Mesa Verde pottery when we were unpacking.
It has been quite amazing to vicariously travel the world through clients videos, film, photos, and slides. I’ve climbed mountains that I’ll never do in real life, seen tropical fish photos in coral reefs, recognized Xmas presents I got when I was a kid.
It’s fun to help clients preserve their priceless memories.

Thank you – the film transfers look terrific! It cost a little more than I had imagined, but it was well worth it. You did a great job and be sure that I will recommend your work anytime. I already did my first DVD with some of the clips and it just looks great!
Niwot, Colorado
Just wanted to thank you again for the great job you did on my family’s movies. They were a big hit, especially the first DVD – The Early Years. Mom and Dad both teared up as they told their children and grandchildren about our family’s history.
Superior, CO
Thank you so much for all your hard work, good ideas, and understanding. This process (of creating something) has been very healing for me and it has helped me channel my grief into something productive. A million thanks! We’ll refer you to all our friends and sing your praises for all you’ve done for us.

I wanted to drop you a note to thank you for the great job you did with our family movies. I was just in NJ and we were able to view a lot of the movies together as a family. We all enjoyed seeing our loved ones come alive again. Thanks for doing such a great job of bringing that back to us!
